Young man in custody for allegedly stabbing a Durban teenager to death

A 20-year-old man who is believed to have fatally stabbed a teenager at the weekend is expected to appear Durban Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, says the suspect was arrested on Sunday after stabbing 17-year-old Donell Potgieter in the chest at a house in Hime Street in Wentworth on Friday night.

Mbele says he fled the scene after stabbing.

Potgieter was rushed to hospital and declared dead upon arrival.

The suspect will be identified once he has appeared in Court.
