Msobomvu police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after an 11-year-old girl died when she was hit by a car along the N2 near Zingqayi village, Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.
The accident occurred at about 10.30am on Saturday, spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said.
"The cause of the accident is not known. The deceased died at the scene. The identity of the deceased is still being withheld pending official notification of all family members of the deceased about her death," he said.
