A Western Province rugby player will appear in court on a fraud charge relating to a vehicle licence.
Team spokesperson, Gavin Lewis confirmed to the Cape Times that the player was arrested, hours after Western Province beat the Griquas in Kimberley on Saturday.
Provincial police spokesman November Filander said a 22-year-old man was arrested early on Sunday at a roadblock near Camps Bay police station.
It was alleged that the number plates of the player's car did not correspond with the licence disk.
He was released on R500 bail and will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
