An East Rand police constable shot dead a police captain in front of his son in an apparent road rage incident over the weekend.
The two officials, both of whom were off-duty, were involved in a collision on Saturday evening.
Police spokesperson, Pinky Tsinyane, says the 29-year old constable got out of his car after the collision and confronted the captain.
There was a heated exchange, during which the constable allegedly shot the captain, hitting him in the leg and later fired another, fatal shot.
Tsinyane says the constable will appear in the Katlehong Magistrate's Court on Monday in connection with the murder.
