A police Sergeant stationed in Ixpopo in Kwazulu Natal will make his first court appearance on Monday for the alleged murder of his pregnant girlfriend.
Spokesperson for the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) Robbie Raburabu says the 34-year-old victim, whose body was discovered a week ago, was expecting triplets.
He says she was last seen on Sunday the 13th of August, in the company of the 48-year-old Sergeant.
The victim, identified as Busisiwe Ngubo was reportedly strangled and left on the side of the road.
Her body was discovered a kilometre from her home in Monday the 14th of August.
Raburabu says when the Sergeant's home was searched a stash of dagga and other exhibits were confiscated and he will therefore face additional charges.
