Woman bitten by Cobra

A woman is in a serious but stable condition in the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria after she was bitten by an Egyptian Cobra in her home in Jakalsdans, north of the city.

Netcare 911 says the woman was bitten when she got up last night to switch her light on.

Paramedics found her in a serious condition and in a considerable pain after being bitten on the foot.

The snake was killed and taken to the hospital to be identified.
