A 27-year-old woman made a brief appearance in the Kimberley Magistrates Court on Wednesday for allegedly trafficking several women from Barkley West to Kimberley for sexual exploitation.
Ester Palesa Moshoeshoe was arrested in a special operation earlier this week involving the Hawks' Special Organised Crime Investigation and the Kimberley flying squad.
A spokesperson for the Hawks in the Northern Cape Nomthandazo Mnisi said they received information about a female suspect who is involved in human trafficking and police quickly responded.
Police arrived at the location and rescued three women aged between 17 and 22.
Moshoeshoe was remanded in custody and will be back in court on the 24th of December for a formal bail application.
The investigation continues.
