Western Cape Transport Minister, Robin Carlisle, will launch the province's second round of crash videos on Wednesday.
This is part of the Department's campaign to shock the public into changing their behaviour on the roads.
The Western Cape Transport Ministry says when the campaign was launched last December it was South Africa's first government viral campaign, and garnered nearly 400,000 views online.
Ministry spokesperson, Siphesihle Dube says the main idea behind the launch of crash witness that is happening today is to re-focus on the fatalities on the roads as they pertain to pedestrians particularly. Recent studies have shown that they are becoming more and more vulnerable on the roads even less so in some ways then drivers are.
The videos come from CCTV cameras located across the province and are not for sensitive viewers or for people under the age of 18.
The campaign is being launched on Safely Home's website, www.safelyhome.westerncape.gov.za.
