The Western Cape provincial government says it will pursue criminal charges against ANC Youth League members who emptied porta-loos filled with human waste onto the steps of the provincial legislature building in Cape Town on Monday.
Western Cape government spokesperson, Zak Mbele, says charges will be laid as soon as the Youth League members are identified.
Last month, the City of Cape Town was granted an interim interdict against seven identified ANC Youth League-linked residents and their supporters who spilled the contents of porta-loos on the N2 highway.
Mbele says while everyone has the right to protest there can be no excuse for stooping to this level of behavior.
