The Western Cape Education Department has activated its online ordering system for textbook procurement.
The Department said that this will ensure that textbook orders are delivered to schools on time for the start of the 2014 school year.
The Western Cape is the only Province in the country with such an online ordering facility which was introduced in 2011 as a pilot project and launched in all schools in 2012.
Department spokesperson, Bronagh Casey, says following the success of the 2012 textbook procurement process, the Western Cape Education Department will again be using this system as from Monday.
"We encourage all our schools to ensure that the textbook orders are made before the 14th of June to make sure the orders are processed as soon as possible. We hope to have all our textbooks delivered by November this year and we would like to give schools enough time to report any wrong deliveries or shortages or errors before the end of the school year", Casey said.
