The two people who were shot dead at a smallholding in Vioolsdrift on Monday have been identified.
The victims are 54-year-old Knysna lawyer Coenraad de Beer and 56-year-old James Kriel.
De Beer was the director of De Beer Attorneys, while Kriel is said to have owned a self-catering accommodation facility.
Jacob Claassens, 59, has been arrested and charged in connection with the murders.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Cherelle Ehlers, earlier said four men had been visiting a friend on the property when neighbors heard gunshots during the early hours of the morning.
She said upon arrival, the owner of the smallholding allegedly admitted to shooting two men and wanted to hand himself over to the police.
Two other men who were injured were taken to hospital.
Claassens is still in custody.
He will apply for bail in the Springbok Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
