Customs officials seized six boxes containing 80,000 Viagra pills, valued at almost R8 million, at OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday, the South African Revenue Service said in a statement on Friday.
It is believed that the drugs, valued at R7,921,200 were part of a possible counterfeit footwear shipment that was detained on September 25.
Upon inspection, SARS customs found 79,212 Viagra pills, along with 3,000 pairs of Adidas footwear.
The goods were seized and will be handed over to police for further investigation.
