Cosatu secretary-general, Zwelinzima Vavi, has advised parents to keep their children away from school tomorrow.
That's because the trade union federation will be embarking on a country-wide strike against e-Tolling and labour brokers, involving most Cosatu affiliated unions, including teacher unons.
Vavi said workers in essential services will not take part in the strike.
Meanwile, the SA Chamber of Commerce and Industry says the strike is potentially damaging to the economy.
Sacci CEO, Neren Rau, says on a global scale South Africa has one of the highest levels of protest action and is on the watch lists of ratings agencies for a sovereign downgrade.
SACCI warns that extensive mass action as planned by COSATU could trigger a downgrade.
