A 50-year-old American man who was on a motorbike tour in South Africa has suffered serious injuries in a crash in Mpumalanga.
ER24 says the man collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle round a corner on Kaapsehoop Road on Sunday morning.
Spokesperson, Ross Campbell said the American citizen was apparently on his second day of a bike tour through South Africa.
“The man was found to have suffered injuries to his right leg and was in a critical condition.”
Campbell said he was treated with Advanced Life Support interventions to stabilise his condition before being airlifted by medical helicopter to a private hospital for further care.
