Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has refuted allegations of sexual assault that have been leveled against him.
A criminal case has reportedly been laid against Godongwana.
The case stems from an incident in the Kruger National Park in Skukuza, Mpumalanga where Godongwana allegedly violated an employee.
He had visited the park in his private capacity.
The complainant, an employee, was offering massage services to guests in their rooms.
“I have always upheld and respected the rights and dignity of women, and this allegation goes against everything I stand for,” Godongwana said in a statement released on Saturday.
He added that he was in his room together with his wife and there was no basis for the allegations.
