Police arrested three men after a Uitenhage motorist was threatened with a broken beer bottle before his car was hijacked.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the incident happened on Friday night in Kwanobuhle when the complainant was driving down Nyanda Street.
She said two men flagged him down and “ordered” him to stop before threatening him and driving off in his VW Polo.
Naidu said the motorist immediately notified police and the vehicle was spotted by a police patrol resulting in a chase.
“They managed to stop the vehicle in Durban Street in Uitenhage and three suspects aged between 25 and 45 years old were apprehended on the scene”
They are due to appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of hijacking.
