Two British citizens including a guest house owner from Durban are expected to appear in court on Tuesday on a range of charges.

The two tourists were arrested at a guest house in Glenmore where they had booked in shortly after arriving in the country illegally.

It is alleged that the tourists also rented a vehicle illegally and entered the country from the Swaziland border on Saturday.

National police spokesperson, Vish Naidoo, says the British nationals were told they cannot enter South Africa, however, they sped off and evaded police after a high-speed chase.

Police tracked them down to a guesthouse in Umbilo.

The two men are facing charges contravening the immigration act, contravening the regulations of the disaster management Act and also being in possession of a vehicle believed to have been stolen.

The pair will appear alongside the guesthouse owner who will be charged for accepting the foreign nationals, as this is also in contravention of the Disaster Management Act.
