Two suspected rhino poachers have been shot dead after they opened fire on rangers in the Kruger National Park, a park spokesman said.
Kruger spokesman William Mabasa says the rangers were on patrol on Monday morning when they came across a trio of armed men who started shooting.
Two of the men were killed while a third escaped.
Mabasa said they had equipment on them used in rhino poaching, including an axe.
