Two men from Gauteng appeared in court on Monday for allegedly issuing false matric certificates from an internet café in central Johannesburg.
A spokesperson for the Hawks, Lieutenant-Colonel Lloyd Ramovha, says Lebohang Mokgadi, 24 and Dimakatso Papo, 30, were found altering and editing matric statements of results and certificates issued in 2014.
He says the misrepresentation was aimed at reflecting a University entry qualification.
Electronic devices used in the crime, including a computer and cellphone, have been seized for further investigation.
Both men were granted bail of R500 in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court and will appear in court on 7 April.
