A Trompsburg man has been sentenced to two life terms by the Bloemfontein High Court, for killing a Free State farmer and his wife.
In addition, judge Faan Hancke sentenced 27-year-old Moeketsi Hlaasa, to 15 years for housebreaking with intent to commit robbery and a further 15 years for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Hancke said the murders last year had had an adverse effect on local residents, as there had been three farm killings in the past six years in the area.
Yesterday, Hlaasa's case was separated from that of his two co-accused.
