Two men were killed, and six others left injured on Friday morning when a truck crashed into a stationary minibus on the N3 in Heidelburg.
ER24 said paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 6 am to find a large truck and minibus on the side of the road and well alight.
“Two men were found lying near the minibus while several people were found walking around on the scene. The Fire Services began to extinguish the blaze while medics tended to the patients.”
Spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said on assessment, medics found that two men had already succumbed to their numerous injuries.
“Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead. Six other patients were found with minor to moderate injuries,” he said.
He said the details surrounding this incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
