Two Boksburg Community Correctional Services officials have been shot and killed in the Duduza location on the East Rand.
The two officials were killed on Tuesday as they were tracing a parolee who had absconded.
A State firearm was also stolen from one of the deceased.
Correctional services Minister Ronald Lamola decried the senseless act of brutality against the two officials.
His spokesperson Chrispin Phiri says the Department of Correctional Services will not tolerate parolees absconding.
The victims were only identified as Mr Faku and Mr Moliki.
