Two people are due to appear in court on Monday after being found with explosives in a house in Kwa Thema in Springs.
A police spokesperson said that the arrests were made on Friday morning following an intelligence-driven operation.
“During the search, police found 44 blasting cartridges, one roll of detonating cord, 4 connector cord fuse, and more than R100 000-00 cash,” said police spokesperson, Captain Kay Makhubele.
He said a man and a woman, aged 25 and 34, were arrested and will appear in the Springs Magistrate Court on Monday
Makhubele said that Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela commended the work l done by the Gauteng police.
