An accident scene in Glencore mines near Ogies in Mpumalanga turned into a crime scene when two bodies were discovered floating in a mine pit.
Spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli says a truck driver lost control of his vehicle on Wednesday morning and plunged into a mine pit with water.
He says when emergency services arrived and police arrived on the scene they made the gruesome discovery.
Colonel Mdhuli says a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death while efforts will be made to trace their next of kin.
The truck driver, who was alone during the accident was transported to hospital.
