Two men are expected back in the Nelspruit District Court on Friday for allegedly trafficking four Bangladeshi nationals.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said Atif Ali, 27, and Subuj Miah, 30, appeared in court on Tuesday and were remanded in custody.
She said the four foreign nationals are now in a place of safety after they were found in captivity during a joint operation by the Hawks in Mpumalanga, Crime Intelligence and Nelspruit Dog unit last Friday.
Sekgotodi said the team followed up on information about people who were being held captive inside a house in Nelspruit's Belview Estate.
She said the four has travelled from Bangladesh via Dakar to Mozambique where they allegedly walked to South Africa where they were picked up in Komatipoort and transported to Nelspruit.
The victims alleged that their captors phoned their relatives in Bangladesh and demanded ransom money for their release.
