National police have announced the arrest of two people in connection with the 2020 break-in at President Cyril Ramaphosa's Phala Phala game farm.
Spokesperson, lieutenant-colonel Katlego Mogale, said the two, aged 30 and 39, were arrested in Bela Bela and Rustenburg.
She said the arrest of a third suspect was imminent.
The break-in made international headlines when former spy boss, Arthur Fraser, laid charges against President Ramaphosa in relation to the Phala Phala break-in.
CCTV footage also emerged of the suspects on the property where millions in foreign currency, hidden in furniture, was reportedly stolen.
President Ramaphosa has survived calls for his head from the political opposition over the matter, with newly appointed Public Protector, Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka, exonerating him from any wrongdoing in relation to the scandal.
Her report is being challenged in court.
Gcaleka cleared the president of allegations of violating the executive ethics code and abuse of power by using the police’s presidential protection service to investigate housebreaking and theft of $580 000, the proceeds of the purchase of buffalo at his Phala Phala farm in Limpopo in February 2020.
