Limpopo police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of businesswoman, Lizette Deacon (55), and her mother, Hettie (70) last Thursday.
Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nneke Ledwaba said the suspects are aged suspects and were arrested on Sunday in different locations by a “high-level” team of investigators.
“The first suspect aged 35, was arrested in Mokgoopong at about 02h35 and the second one in Polokwane at about 08h00,” he said.
The deceased were attacked and stabbed in their house, allegedly by the suspects who then tied them up and put them in the back of their SUV.
“The vehicle was found abandoned next to the R37 road between Polokwane and Lebowakgomo on the same night, Thursday 10 September 2020,” said General Ledwaba.
Police are also on the trail of other suspects.
The two arrested men will appear in the Polokwane magistrate court on Tuesday on two counts of murder and house robbery.
Ledwaba said the 35-year-old suspect will also face a charge under the Immigration Act as he is in the country illegally.
