Amid confirmation that the Hawks arrested two people in connection with the murders of 8 people at a homestead on the KZN south coast, relatives say they're in the dark and trying to understand what led to the brutal killings.
The eight victims, including four children, we're hacked to death on Wednesday morning.
One relative managed to escape, while another is believed to be receiving treatment at a Port Shepstone hospital.
Bazono-khanya Maphumulo-Mbhele says she received a call from a family member in the early hours of the morning...
"I received a call from my sister saying there is a fire at my aunt's house. That was about 12.10am, we arrived to find police and fire fighters at the house. The police asked us not to go inside. Nobody knows what happened. It happened while everybody was asleep. There are also no neighbours nearby" she said.
