Tributes are pouring in for well-known economist, Tony Twine, who died in Johannesburg yesterday.
According to reports, Twine had suffered a heart attack last week.
Twine caused a stir recently when he released a report saying that shale mining in the Karoo could be good for the economy and job creation.
In an interview with Algoa FM News two weeks ago, Twine said the Econometrix report focussed on the macro-economic benefits that shale mining would have for the country and not only the ecological risks.
