A Brazilian tourist has been rescued from near drowning at Surfers Corner Beach, near Muizenberg in Cape Town.
Spokesperson for the city's disaster risk management centre, Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says the 25-year-old Brazilian woman was swimming in "fairly rough" surf conditions on Sunday morning, and was rescued by two surfers.
He says the woman, identified as Gleema Lima, swallowed water, and injured one of her legs on rocks, and was in a state of shock.
