Transport Minister, Dipuo Peters, has appointed a top level team to probe the horrific accident in Mpumalanga in which 29 people were killed.
The accident happened on Monday along the Moloto Corridor when a tipper truck swerved to avoid a stationary bus and then collided with an oncoming bus.
Thirty other passengers were seriously injured.
Condolences have been streaming from for the victims, including a message from president Jacob Zuma.
Meanwhile, Transport Department spokesperson, Tiyani Ponto-Rikhotso, says the investigation team appointed by Minister Peter consists of officials from the Department of Transport, Road Traffic Management Corporation and the Mpumalanga provincial government.
"The brief for the investigation is not only to unearth the causing factors behind the crash but also come up with recommendations and proposals of what it is that needs to be done moving forward" he said.
