The ANC's regional secretary in eThekwini has appeared in court on charges of reckless and negligent driving.
The National Prosecuting Authority says Bongumusa Nciki appeared in court alongside Ivan Khoza, in the Durban magistrates' court on Thursday.
NPA spokesperson, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, says the two face an alternative charge of showing disregard for a road traffic signal (red traffic light), and operating an unlicensed vehicle.
"The state is alleging that the men were driving along Lighthouse Road in Umhlanga on 06 March 2024 when they committed the offences," says the spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority in KZN, Natasha Kara.
"They were released on bail of R 5000 each, and the case was remanded to 10 April 2024 for further investigation."
