Police in the Northern Cape have arrested three suspects after they were found in possession of crayfish tails without a permit in Warrenton about 70km from Kimberley.
Spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Dimakatso Mooi, says members were conducting patrols on the N12 when they stopped a vehicle that was driving at a high speed in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
She says while searching, they found two big cooler boxes with crayfish tails worth approximately R6 000 stored inside.
Mooi says they men aged 22, 25, and 45-years-old were arrested for the possession of protected species without a permit.
The trio is expected to appear before the Warrenton Magistrates' Court soon.
