Three killed in four vehicle pile-up near Port Edward, KZN

Three people were killed after four cars collided on the R61 near Port Edward on the KZN south coast in a multiple-vehicle accident on Saturday evening.

Private Ambulance Service spokesperson Craig Botha said specialised rescue equipment had to be brought in to extricate the occupants from the vehicles.

He says one person sustained critical injuries and four others were seriously injured.

They were transported to various hospitals.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.
