Three drug mules arrested at OR Tambo


Three alleged drug mules have been arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) last week.

Police Spokesperson Luietenant Colonel Katlego Mogale says the two men and a woman were arrested by the National Joint Operational and Intelligence structure.

The 49-year-old Erik Korpel was about to board a flight to Munich in Germany when drugs with an estimated street value of over R100 000 was found in his luggage.

The other man and woman were arrested separately.

The 47-year-old Ali Ahmed Camaley was about to depart for Frankfurt when parcels of drugs were found among his clothing.

The 36-year-old Raquel Mukoko arrived in Johannesburg on a flight from Sao Paolo, swallowed several synthetic "bullets" containing cocaine. She was in transit with her final destination being Windhoek.

Mukoko has already made two court appearances and will be back in court on the 21st of January to give her time to secure an attorney.
