Thousands of inmates to be released

An estimated 14-thousand 650 sentenced inmates will be released conditionally in terms of the Remission of Sentences announced by President Jacob Zuma at Freedom Day celebrations in Pretoria on Friday..

Police Minister, Nathi Mthethwa says another 20-thousand 855 people on probation and parole will also be included in the remission.

He says the remission will not include dangerous criminals
