The Hawks in Mpumalanga have arrested a third suspect for the July murder of Sergeant Joseph Kutu who was attached to the Witbank Tactical Response Team.

Spokesperson, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, says the 24-year-old man was arrested at his home in Kwaggafontein on Tuesday as part of an intelligence-driven operation.

He will join the late policeman's wife, Patricia Kutu, and alleged hitman, Vincent Langa, in the dock during their next court appearance on 28 December.

Sekgotodi said more arrests were imminent.  Kutu was wounded in his home in July and died on the way to the hospital during a suspected house robbery.

His wife was left unharmed while the attackers took a firearm, cell phone, and cash.

Sekgotodi said the 28-year-old court interpreter was arrested on Thursday 16 December, two days after the arrest of the alleged hitman, Langa who was sought on murder and house robbery charges.

She said the two appeared in the Emalahleni Magistrate Court on Tuesday and were remanded in custody to 28 December for a formal bail application.
