Tensions high in Johannesburg where the DA is leading a march on Cosatu House

Tensions are mounting in Johannesburg where the Democratic Alliance is leading a march on Cosatu House.

They have been met by a large crowd of Cosatu members and according to reports the march has been marred by violence.

One unconfirmed report says that a rock thrown into the crowd has injured a DA supporter.

The DA wants to hand over a memorandum to Cosatu condemning its stance on a Youth Wage Subsidy which it says could create more than 400,000 jobs.

DA national spokesperson, Mmusi Maimane, says shots were also heard in the melee.

Meanwile, A photo-posting on twitter shows Mail and Guardian reporter Nicholas Bauer with a huge welt on his forehead and blood running down his face.

He had clearly also been hit by a rock.
