DA march to Cosatu continues

The Democratic Alliance has agreed to end its march on Cosatu at least 50 metres from the trade union federation's Braamfontein, Johannesburg head office.

Party spokesperson, Kelly Miller, says they will work with the police and want to ensure the safety of all protesters.

Johannesburg metro police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar says police will lead the march, scheduled to end on the lawns of the Johannesburg Civic Theatre.

The theatre is across the road from Cosatu's new Braamfontein headquarters.

The march, which is currently underway, is to protest against Cosatu's opposition to the youth wage subsidy, a policy that the DA says, could create 423,000 jobs for young, unemployed South Africans.
