No bail for polo star's alleged killer

A man accused of stabbing South African polo star Sibusiso Duma to death has been denied bail in the Howick Magistrate's Court.
Twenty-four year-old Sibongiseni Mchunu allegedly killed Duma in Lidgetton, Howick, on the 1st of May.
Magistrate Thembinkosi Nene ordered Mchunu to remain in custody for his own safety and postponed the matter to the 5th of June.

Duma represented South Africa against Australia in the Kurland International in 2009 in Plettenberg Bay, scoring five goals and receiving the player of the match award.

He was the first development polo player in the country to climb the ranks to international level and had received a job offer to work with a professional polo player in England.
