Ten people en route to the Eastern Cape from Cape Town perished in a horror bus accident near Beaufort-West in the Karoo.
Western Cape Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa, said that at least 30 people were injured when the bus driver lost control of the bus, which then overturned.
"Eight people died on the spot. Another one died later on in hospital after being trapped underneath the bus. One person died in hospital," he said.
Africa said among the victims were six females, three males and a child aged seven or eight.
