Ten people including three children were killed following a collision between a minibus taxi and light motor vehicle in Eldorado Park.
The accident happened just before 7 am on Wednesday morning on the R553 Golden Highway, in Johannesburg South.
A spokesperson for ER24 Russel Meiring says when they arrived on the scene they found bodies scattered all over the road.
The ten victims were all declared dead on the scene.
Meiring says the three children were all under the age of 10.
Some patients were treated on the scene for injuries ranging from minor to critical.
It is not clear what led to the accident and it will form part of the police investigation.
