Police are investigating the murder of an investigator with the police watchdog body, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.
National police spokesperson, Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo, said that 46-year-old Mandla Mahlangu was shot and killed during a robbery at his house on a smallholding, Jakkalsdans, near Cullinan, north of Pretoria.
He said a group of men arrived at the property at around 03h30 on Tuesday and held Mahlangua and a worker at gunpoint.
Naidoo said the suspects shot Mahlangu and then fled in his white Nissan Hardbody NP300 bakkie, JD23XF GP with some household items.
"The Gauteng Provincial Investigation Unit is investigating robbery as a possible motive," Naidoo said.
No arrests have yet been made.
