EFF leader Julius Malema and his spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi appeared briefly in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday for the alleged assault on a police colonel at the funeral of Winnie Madikizela Mandela in April 2018.
The case was postponed to 23 and 24 June because Malema and Ndlozi's legal representative stated they would need more time to prepare.
This follows after AfriForum announced in July 2019 that the organisation would approach the court with an application to force the NPA into making a decision about the prosecution of Malema regarding this case and two other cases against him.
The alleged incident was captured on CCTV camera.
