An 18-year-old male accused of raping two girls in June was denied bail in the Moutse magistrate's court in Limpopo.
Police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the teenager lured the two girls, aged 12 and 13, to an RDP house and locked them inside.
It is alleged that he bought food for his victims and ultimately raped them one by one until one of the victims managed to escape.
Ngoepe says she ran home to her parents who returned to the house with a group of community members.
He says they allegedly caught him raping the other victim.
The teenager tried to flee the scene but was caught and handed over to police by the community.
He will make another court appearance on Wednesday.
