The Franschhoek pass has been closed until further notice following last week's rockfalls which saw a motorist narrowly escape a boulder falling on this vehicle.
The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works said: "A geotechnical investigation is underway to determine the extent and nature of the damage.
"Only once the report on this assessment has been received will it be possible to determine the next steps. The pass remains closed until further notice."
