A teenager who allegedly killed a 14-year-old girl before dumping her body in a pit toilet is expected to appear in the Kabokweni Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Police Spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlthati says the victim was last seen a week ago and the family reported her missing when they received threatening phone calls, demanding a ransom for her release the following day.
He says police opened up a case of kidnapping and found the victim's body three days later.
Brigadier Htlathi says their investigation led them to the 19-year-old suspect who was arrested and charged with murder.
Police suspect that the victim was also drugged but a post mortem will be conducted to determine her exact cause of death.
