Kwazulu Natal police arrested an 18-year-old suspect in connection with the killing of six people in Umbumbulu on Saturday night.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, says the breakthrough was made with the arrest of the teenager on Monday.
“He is suspected to be behind the killing of the six people, including two sisters who were found dead with gunshot wounds. Four bodies were found inside a room, one was lying next to the house and the other was recovered a few metres away from the house,” he said.
Colonel Netshiunda said a substance believed to be drugs was found inside the house.
“The arrested suspect will appear in court soon and police investigations into the possible cause of the killings are continuing.”
He said more arrests are expected.
