Police in Westonaria in Gauteng have arrested a taxi driver and his assistant following a viral post on social media where they could be seen harassing a female driver.
A spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters says on the video the woman was violently attacked and threatened by the taxi driver and his assistant after they accused her of poor driving skills.
Police managed to track down the woman on the video and helped her to open a case of assault, harassment, intimidation as well as driving under the influence of alcohol.
Brigadier Peters says the incident happened on Monday when the taxi driver was busy transporting learners.
Both men are out on bail and as part of their bail conditions, they are not allowed to go near the victim.
A date for their next court appearance must still be confirmed.
