Police have established a Task Team to track down a group of unknown suspects who shot a truck driver and stole fuel worth millions of rands.
Spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says on Saturday the manager of a depot situated in the Industrial area of Louis Trichardt opened his premises on Saturday evening for a truck driver under the pretence of buying diesel.
He says in the process of opening the gate, armed suspects jumped out and threatened the manager before tying him up in his office and stealing cash.
Mojapelo says other employees were also locked up and robbed and an innocent truck driver was shot and wounded.
The suspects then entered the premises with six trucks and filled them up with diesel worth R5.5 million.
